The Morden Chamber of Commerce hosts the Farmers’ Market every Thursday 4:00 – 6:00 from June to October. The Farmers’ Market is held in downtown Morden on the corner of Stephen & 8th Street. Over 20 vendors sell homegrown vegetables, fresh baking, locally raised meat, pasta, handmade soap/beauty products, art, crafts, jewellery and much more! Groups of friends head out for an evening of shopping and a chance to win some fabulous prizes.
Wrap Up the evening at Rocks Bar and Grill for drink and appetizer specials. Pick up your passport from any participating business starting at 5pm November 17th. Gather Stamps from the businesses as you shop. Stamps must be collected during the event. The Morden Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting is held annually in March; the Mayor is invited to present the State of the City Address. The board of directors is elected by the membership and the reports from the previous year are adopted.
We hold 3-4 luncheons/workshops each year. Taking part in these educational events provides learning opportunities for your business. The Home & Life Show is an annual Spring event held in March to showcase a variety of businesses to the community. This is a great opportunity to visit numerous businesses under one roof and see what new products and services they have to offer. This 2 day free event has a little something for everyone from home décor, furniture, landscaping, health & beauty to outdoor activities. The Home & Life Show runs Friday 3:00pm – 9:00pm and Saturday 10:00am – 5:00pm at the Access Event Centre.
The MDCC Community Open golf tournament is a casual fun way to connect with other people in the community. No golf skills are required for this fun 9 hole scramble with lots of fun contests and prizes. This annual event is open to everyone and takes place on a Thursday evening in June at the Minnewasta Golf & Country Club followed by a BBQ dinner on the patio.
The MDCC Awards Gala is an annual event held each fall where we recognize the outstanding contributions of our members. Nominations are submitted by the general public for the following award categories: Business of the Year (< 7 employees), Business of the Year (7+ employees), Not for Profit of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year. Each Year we have a keynote address by an inspiring speaker.
